"S" Family Photoshoot

I had a really fun time with the "S" family today in their back yard amongst gorgeous old tractors that Mr. "S" fixes up in his spare time!

I have to say, I loved having this peek into their lives.  Mrs. "S" really emphasized how much she just wanted to have the photoshoot in her backyard in our pre-session planning.  She just didn't see her family being themselves in a manicured garden, posing for their Christmas picture.  There's nothing wrong with that, it just wasn't what would make her family comfortable and wouldn't represent them.

I love that she voiced this.  I loved that she wanted her pictures to represent her family's personality, no matter if the trim needed painting or a shovel was out of place.  And I loved how involved she was in the planning with me.  From choosing the outfits, to taking pictures of her backyard for me at different times during the day, to introducing me to her husband and dogs, whom I have never met before - we worked together to tailor the shoot to what would make her family feel most comfortable!

This is what I love about what I do.  I get to see a little glimpse about what makes this family unique and hopefully, show a little bit of that in a picture.

To my "S" family:  I really enjoyed our afternoon capturing your family at your home!  Your kids were so well-behaved and were not camera shy in the slightest!  And let's not forget Mr. "S" who pushed his tractors all over the yard for me without complaint!  Here's a tiny peek into what's more to come for you!
